I use RockAuto almost exclusively for sourcing parts. For the water pump on the M113K engine, they only carry one quality manufacturer and it is Vaico. Vaico is a division of Vierol, a german auto parts manufacturer. I have not used that manufacturer, but if you are buying it through FCP and they are providing you a life time warranty, they probably aren't selling junk. BTW, it is listed on RA at $130.79. Good luck.

I recently replaced my water pump. I went with URO brand. Please keep in mind that the water pump is interchangeable with non amg e class models. A few of the holes on the water pump housing are not tapped. The non amg models have no need for the second tensioner specifically for the supercharger belt. The oem bolts for the supercharger tensioner are self tapping so pretap the bolt onto the new water pump housing before installing to make installation easier

So which pump you got?

I‘m tempted to buy a ÜRO or a Vaico pump... I even could get my hands on a Quinton Hazell unit...

What‘s your recommendation?
Any long term experiences?

best regards

dont get URO. Parts quality ranges from great aftermarket fixes to common BMW problems, they make a decent valve cover for BMW actually. abhorrent unsafe trash of bushing and flex discs due to subpar rubber. The control arms they offer for 911's fail within months. If you keep it to plumbing, small parts, fan blades, you're actually ok with URO.

VAICO is fine, I exclusively use their transmission filter kits.

I'm also warning you, water pumps suffer the most from parts quality defects because of the accuracy needed in casting, the bearings, and even the hose retention on the clip. You want to be sure on this.

Be kind of quick, theres a parts shortage on everything lately on my side.

if it's gonna break, it'll break right away. you're going to be fine

URO, Rein, the ghetto stuff on Rockauto under the economy section, when they go they go immediately. Horrible bearing noise, blows coolant through the impeller shaft, wobble, the hose will get ejected because of the casting imperfections or the clip being defective.

Thanks a lot for the input!

The only reason searching for options is to avoid Mercedes prices...

Waterpump for m113k is ~450,- € for the rebuilt unit (with ~50,- € core charge) or ~500,- € for a new unit (which should be NLA now - last time I asked there were 5 available in total...)

So as a german it‘s cheaper to order overseas and probably faster, too (including customs etc. ...)

I even asked a local machine shop which rebuilds waterpumps (for older cars) ... ~420,- € for the rebuild of my old unit... no thanks...

Vaico, FEBI, HEPU are NOT available anymore in GER...

Vaico in eBay ~ 250,- $ (+shipment +GER ~19% tax +3% GER customs)

Quinton Hazell ranging from 65,- £ (+shipment +GER ~19% tax +3% GER customs) up to 250,- €...

ÜRO ranges from 150,- $ (+shipment +GER ~19% tax +3% GER customs) to 250,- €!

Therefore I think I will buy a original + core charge at F C P (beacuse Vaico is on backorder 😆 ) which will cost only a little over 1/2 of the price compared to the dealership 🤪

RockAuto.com shows one in stock at $150. They do ship and/or have internationally distribution but you will have to check on the shipping to you.

Im also in the EU and basically could only find a couple of options on the known sites. Quinten Hazell being one of them indeed

Dealer asked for €550 for the OE waterpump, QH is half of that...

@HubTraum
Triscan / https://www.ebay.de/itm/374703885613 / €70
Quinton Hazell / https://www.topersatzteile.de/herste...azell/11944042 / €220
FAI / https://www.ebay.de/itm/314504946692 / €160

I have no idea what the best choice would be for us...

@nd-photo.nl

I think this order should be reasonable since pricing is not that much apart...

- Mercedes (from US.)
- HEPU (if you can find one - they look like the original but „missing“ the complete part #)
- Vaico (from US.)
- QH / ÜRO / Triscan (if you have to repair it now or want to sell the car)

best regards

PS: my pump appears to be the Original one - if so it lastet 18 years and ~ 380k km 😎
