Build sheet from VIN
I am hoping for some assistance with getting a copy of the build sheet for my W211 E55. In particular, its the wood trim colour that I would like to find. The online VIN decoders have quite a bit of information but don't mention the wood trim. Any help with getting a copy would be greatly appreciated. VIN is : WDB2110762A168601
Anyone know if I should expect much of a difference in colour if replacing a trim piece with a new one as a result of the original part being 18 years old ?
The piece in question is the cover over the ashtray that someone may have pressed too hard and there is a curved crack in the lacquer finish
Thanks,
Mark

What you could try is, to carefully sand it down and apply a fresh clearcoat on the cracked piece,
, Sounds like a good idea as I can always order the part if I stuff it up. I'll research the method and products to use and give it a go.
Thanks for the suggestion.

Thanks for letting me know about the oven idea. That could be a good fix, I'll try it on a another rim first when I get a piece to try it on. I'll post the result after the test. It won't be real soon as fun time is a bit limited this month.
Cheers
