"They" said it couldn't be done
Posting here for more visibility, but I'm pretty sure I'm the second guy to bring this issue up on the forums.
I have an American SL55 and am in Canada. I spoke with several local shops, along with a internet expert about switching my cluster to kph (it's even got a indicator for that) and all of them told me you can't switch the cluster to kph, you need a new one, blah blah blah.
Playing with my friends newer higher level autel scan tool yesterday, I think I was in the national variant coding menu, changed that to canada, pushed it to the cluster, and bam, my analog speedo now reports in KPH. It only goes to 200kph, but that's fine, I can use the digial if I want to see how far above 200 I'm going.
That's all. Hope someone finds this helpful. I'll enjoy having a usable analog speedo again.

My 2005 CL65 was a US car. I had my indy mechanic go into his star program to change it to KM/H and Celsius. That was 7 years ago now. I was lucky it had a analog speedo that read in both KM/H and MPH.
