Angry Who is jerking me!

Ok, I gave my deposit for an E55 three years ago, the day I picked up my C32. I have been keeping in contact with my dealer for the past several months (since May) making sure we are on track for delivery and everything was. Until a few weeks ago when I learned that my car will be delayed until late Oct/early Nov. I was frustrated, but could live with it. Today I find out that someone dropped the ball and my car isn't even in production and is not scheduled to go into production until early December! As all who have pre-ordered this car, I have been counting the days, but this is souring my taste for the car and MB. The dealer is telling me that MB dropped the ball, MB is saying that the dealer dropped it. I am fuming over this and feel that I am getting the run around. I do not think there is anything to do but walk away. I am so pissed off that I don't want to buy a $90,000 with this much aggravation. Any ideas would be greatly appeciated.

What dealer was this from? RBM or atlanta classic? I dont think RBM would drop the ball like this. Whoever you did order it from..its very easy... go to the other one...and order the way you want it, and you will get it asap.

This is unheard of unless someone is putting people they know in front of you. Plus this car is nowhere near in demand the way it was 1.5 years ago or whatever. No excuse.

It was Atlanta Classic. Funny, but I bought the C32 from Atalanta Classic after RBM was a pain. Do I have a target on my head or what?

I dunno I never had a good vibe about them. RBM though always took care of me and treated me with respect despite my relatively young age (im 26 now, but was 19-22 at the time).

Did you go to teh same salesman? I cant believe a repeat customer would be treated like this. The main thing is go..put your deposit in and get a confirmed spot. None of this bs.

my sales guy left ACC so that probably didn't help. When I called MB N. America, they didn't seem to care too much. You know, I fully bought into the AMG brand. I spent $$ going to AMG Challenge events year after year, and caught greif from family who prefer M products. As many of you, I own a successful Company and service levels mean everything. I cannot stand poor service and this just reaks of it.

I wanted the car fairly loaded, and all the offers were for "striped" cars

Stop dealing with all of the crap and call Mercedes of South Atlanta. Send me a PM and I will be happy to give you my sales guys name and contact info. I have never had a problem with them and never paid over sticker for any of my AMG's.

As fat ******* would say, "sounds like CRAP" Sorry you are having a tough time. I had to go to Colorado to get mine. I dealt with the fleet manager. He told me that if I ran into anyone who needed a special car, to have them call him, and he can find whatever you want. Even had a killer SLR on the floor. I can set you up with his name and number. They treated me like royalty, AND, took 1k off MSRP. He can ship anywhere in the country. Lemme know.

Whichever one is available (1 of 5)
I bought 3 cars from RBM, 1989 420SEL, 1999 ML430, and just a few weeks ago, 2004 E500. I never had any trouble. ACC may have more selection of cars, but I heard that they are a pain in the a**. Try RBM, they will treat you right.

Don't get sour, any amount of wait will be well worth it.

too many to list
My dealer had an unspoken for 2005 E55 with every option, they called me as soon as it arrived. I wasnt even in the market for a new car as I was waiting for the 2005 Porsche 911 S. I paid sticker, and got my car the next day. Have your dealer do a search on their nationwide inventory.

I would cancel and walk away. Then calmly decide how you want to proceed. They don't deserve your business and there's a taint to the whole thing that will only get worse and ruin the good feeling that is part of the whole E55 experience. At this point I don't believe this car is so hard to get that you have to submit to such abuse. Best of luck.

I hate that kind of service. You are the customer and they should treat you like a KING. I say take this as advantage. Go back and make this problem BIG, complain it to the General Manager or the higher status person. GET DISCOUNT out of it. It should be able to pay off your anger.

I agree it being worth the wait, but I hate the runaround...someone should own up to screwing the order rather than passing the buck.

You just have another dealer do a nationwide search as previously recommended and tell the dealer that you have the order with now that you are doing so...that's what I did and they found a car that was as close to what I wanted and I had the car in less than 10 days.

Damn...let them make it your while to stay with them...if they don't walk away and go to someone who cares about your business.

Good luck.

The problem is you have noone who is sticking up for you now that your salesman left. At this point the sales manager should make sure its made right, but that doesnt seem to be happening. Now that noone is getting the commission on the deal, its like noone cares. Get your deposit back and go to another dealer. In fact, go to another dealer first. Get it done with.

Guys, Thanks for all of the insight. Atlanta Classic says that the Regional did not give them a slot for my car? So you are right, I am getting the run around. No one will fess-up to the mistake.

And just to add insult to injury, earlier today as I am speaking to my new sales guy about how they cannot find me another E55, I drive past a black one (that I past on just a week ago from RBM because I didn't likethat it had no options)!

Sound terrible experience.

You been waiting for 3 years, so guess you have to be patience and wait for a few more months and get the best customs combined options of your tasty E55 . I am surprised you have already paid a deposit three years ago, how come you let them keep your deposit , you should wrote complains to their broad , and why not change a different dealer?

Would you consider the CLS55 ?

cnt

Maybe my mind's in the gutter but couldn't you have chosen a better title for this thread?

Anyway you got screwed over pretty bad. I would never do business with a dealership who dropped the ball like that.
