2002 S430 and 2005 E55 AMG

Replaced crank sensor, still having random no start.

Good morning everyone. I have an 05 E55 with 116,000 miles. Completely stock. I was having an issue where if I stopped somewhere and turned it off for 5 minutes or so, when I tried to start it would turn over no problem but wouldn’t start. If I waited a few minutes it would start. So naturally I thought it was the crank sensor. Wasn’t throwing any codes though. I replaced the crank sensor over the weekend. Decided to drive it to work today. Normally I only drive it once or twice over the weekend. Stopped to grab a breakfast sandwich at WAWA this morning and it did it again. Any ideas where I should look next? Thanks.

Did you use OEM? I guess next step is to check fuel pressure next time it doesn't start.

I used Bosch from fcpeuro. I’m guessing there is a way to check fuel pressure with STAR? I have STAR but it’s not with me when it happens. Lol.

I just went through this.....
Check the 30amp fuel pump fuse. Remove, inspect, clean spades (scotch brite , etc..) Also a small finger nail file to clean the fuse holder. Barry suggests contact grease also.....

If you have never replaced your fuel sender/fuel filter you may want to look up Barry's suggestion to check current draw. Hopefully your also checking the fuel pressure (schrader valve on the front fuel rail passenger side)
