1999 C43 AMG, 2005 E55 Wagon
Not a 55k, just an n/a 55 from a 99 E55. Still made the car so much more fun than the stock 4.3.
I got it with 230k miles on it an expected the motor to be on its last legs but it ran great. I beat the crap out of it for years trying to kill the stock motor so I had an excuse to swap it. But it wouldn't quit. 20k mile oil changes, 6,500 rpm shifts all day every day. At 300k I gave up trying to kill it and swapped it. I got my E55 wagon shortly afterward and didn't want to play jenga shuffling cars in and out of the way with one of them being outside so I sold it to a friend in 2019.
In 2020 I missed it so much I bought it back. Been slowly fixing it up suspension wise. It needs a headliner and paint very, very badly now. But I love it. I beat the snot out of it and it never complains. 0 to 60 in the 4.8s range and the torque curve is basically from 0 to redline. Crazy fun.
