Keyless entry issue
Hello all,
I recently got this 06 cls55 and the only keyless entry that was not working was the driver door (common just the door handle) i ordered one off eBay that was supposed to be the front but was the rear. Ended up buying a working driver door one, but now both doors on driver side do not work. They work on pass side and the keyless go on shifter works. Batteries are all new aux, main and fob. I have star and not seeing anything that would not let it work. Literally everything else works on the car. I was looking at the modules for the trunk, they are not that expensive but before doing that i wanted to know if anyone has had same issue or any ideas.

Common issue. Water gets into the keyless door handles and the electronics fail. Driver's door handles fail first because they are used so much more than the others. Some owners have taken the inner handle covers off and tried to fix/clean the electronics and reseal the inner handle. Not a pretty or elegant fix. At some point soon these keyless handles (especially already painted) will go NLA and this issue will be a bigger problem - have to revert to using the key to open/lock doors. I bought a complete set for my W211 E63 a couple years ago and recently bought another spare driver door handle for the eventual failure. Not cheap - about $700 in new handles. Maybe coating the exterior with some kind of waterproof spray would help?

I have replaced every door handle on my 07 E63, these are a common failure point, as there exposed to the weather. I purchased my door handles directly from Mercedes, already painted.
They were about $325 each, if my memory serves. Certainly not a cheap fix. I've heard of owners spraying the inside with a silicon spray, which helps sheds water from the electronics.
