Handling improvements in 2005-2006 cars (vs 2003)?
I have an opportunity to pick up a very low mileage 2003 with a solid service history. I’m aware of most of the changes from the ‘03 to the later years but I’m most interested in the updated steering rack in the later cars and any changes that make the cars handle differently. Could anyone who has had a chance to drive the early and later cars comment with how they feel differently? Do the later cars feel much tighter due to the revised rack? Do the later cars handle significantly better or, at this age, is it more a function of how well they have been maintained and whether the suspension bushings are in decent shape?
I don’t want to miss out on a solid car due to a false perception of later cars driving far better, but I would also happily wait for a later car if it is truly worth it (when it comes to dynamics and handling).
