running rich, unplug the battery overnight to reset adaptations. When was the last time plugs were changed?

Eurocharge fails very conservative on some of their mail order tunes. I've had a couple fresh tune updates come in pegging low on the wideband.

like sicamg said, if you want to modify your car a wideband is needed. There is no guarantee any tuners box tune will end up perfect, especially if you are at altitude you will be getting much less air than they will account for with a basic mod list.

I tuned the last street car that I built using a wide-band 02 sensor. The base tune received was way off. I had to edit the whole program. That engine ended up producing 810RWHP and 1,100 ft. lb. torque.

OP: You'll never know what the air/fuel ratio really is without a wideband 02 installed. What's the age/condition of the 02 sensors in your car? How about the air filters?

Those running a wideband 02, what air/fuel ratio are you seeing at WOT? 11.5?

My AFR hovers around 11.1 sometimes dipping into the 10's and that is good for me. Keeps rings nice and happy on extended runs.
I also have a sensor on both banks as well.

Off the shelf tunes are like that - conservative which means running rich. I'd rather run a little rich and be safe than lean . My AFR is 10.5-10.8.

Best tune is a dyno tune ... every car is different. Jerry @ EC dyno-tuned my second E55 and I ran that thing hard for 20K+ miles, perfect AFR and likely the best tune I had on any make I've owned.

Like Armo said...run a little rich and stay safe. Injector differences, outside temps and elevation changes are best with a richer"safer" tune.
Around my area today was 80 degrees and tommorrow will be 52 so temps are all over the "map"....no pun intended !
