Repainting W211 E63 roof panel..
Hey folks
My W211 E63 is Cirrus White (650U), but the previous owner painted the roof to black, the black paint is also peeling right now.
So I decided to repainted the whole roof panel, just got quoted by a reputable Mercedes collision center for $2,100.
Also have some other quote from other non-Mercedes certified paint shop, they were all around $1,000-$1,300
My question is, what could be difference for these shops, and if the quote provided by Mercedes is reasonable.

MB labor rate is higher than average. Skill level and paint quality could be different between collision shops.
Call a BMW dealer and a Porsche dealer and ask for their top two body shop referrals. Between the MB, BMW and Porsche dealers you will get an idea of which shop(s) is(are) the best.
