2007 E63 TPMS
I too have a 2007 E63! I wish it came with TPMS, but not mine unfortunately! That said, there may have been models that did because EPC lists the parts , but my worry is even if I were to rely on EPC for my car, if the harness doesn’t have the connects, I’m hosed! Even if the harness did have the connects, as why would Mercedes bother to make a version without, unless doing so would actually save them $$, then the next concern is installing the right version TPMS for the front and rear, because the frequencies are different for that year and before? Moreover, due to that difference, one has to install 4 sensors in the fender wells which would require some drilling! Then when all said and done, there’s no guarantee the ECU will accept the reprogram.
However, if you install a New Head unit, some do come with Wi-Fi for that purpose and others. But then you lose the CD Player, which I Love!
I could have used it before I did my last Marathon Build where I replaced the Rear Main which billowed smoke from my exhaust, as well as the Drive discs, Trans Mount, Renewed all rubber suspension mounts in the Subframe and Control Arms, New Shocks, AirSprings, Hubs, and swapped 3.06 Gears and LSD into the Rear Differential. I found myself having already passed two tractor trailers on one of those “back roads” here in Florida and upon approaching the next town, I noticed the Smoke, so I pulled over the first gas station to check it out. It was as I expected so I was about to get in the car when I noticed the Driver Rear Tire was completely Flat! Only those beefy Michelin Sidewalls kept the rims from getting ruined! It turned out I had run over a roofing nail and fortunately, a $25 repair ( and just as much tip!) and an hour wait was all it took to fix it temporarily. But I kept going over in my head how crazy it was to never have even felt this going 90mph on back roads in the middle of nowhere! In any other “lesser” car, something would most likely have gone drastically wrong! It just goes to show how incredible the suspension is in these cars really are! Nevertheless, I definitely may not have made that pass if it were for my having TPMS!
