laser diffusers/jammers: lidatek vs k40

this thread is dedicated to laser diffusers/jammers, not to which radar detector is best. there is another thread dedicated to that.

which diffuser/jammer is better, lidatek or k40?

k40 maintains that lidatek can't disperse more than 1-2 seconds of energy out because the FDA doesn't allow for any longer than that (radiation). K40 diffuser can send for 6-8 seconds.

has anyone done any comparisons between the two? had any experience with the two? is there another company/brand that i am ommiting that i should be looking at?

any and all informationw would be very helpful.

Cannot help you with a comparison. However, on the M5board.com there was a group buy of the Lidatek LE-30. At the end of the thread (it is very long) are some experiences members had with the LE-30 not getting ticketed when they drove thru an area where the cops were using laser.

Escort also has a laser detector/jammer system that you have to purchase (get installed) from an authorized distributor. That laser system is supposed to be able to connect to the Escort X50 radar detector.

I've had the K40 Laser Jammers on 2 cars and they have worked flawlessly. Lidatek has a great reputation so you couldn't go wrong with them either. My installer mentioned something about Escorts' Jammers having a longer lag time to reload than the others which may be a disadvantage.

the K40 laser diffuser, are the LED's visible on the front and rear of the car? do you have any pictures of it? have you tested it anytime?

thanks,
Gareth

and how much did you spend on the entire k40 system, per car, if you don't mind my asking...
