Question Manual Shift Problem

I just picked up my new E55 2005 and absolutely love it. However, I am having a very weird issue with the transmission in manual mode. When I put the shift into manual and then slowly bring up the revs in first gear (must stay in first gear) as is hits about 3,500 RPM I get a kick in the transmission. It almost feels as though it wants to shift automatically to the next gear, but then the car realizes it is in manual and doesn't shift and resumes its acceleration normally . Even weirder is that this phenomenon doesn't seem to happen when I am in manual mode and bring the revs up quiclkly in first gear. When I am jumping on it she just cruises right through 3,500 all the way until I up shift.

When I brought it to the dealer for service they said it sounded like a software glitch and it was an easy fix. However, I get a call a day later and they tell me that the software thing didn't work and not only is my E55 doing it, but they tested two other new E55's they had which both did the exact same thing. They said they called Mercedes HQ to see what was happening.

Is anybody else out there having this problem with their W210 or W211? I can't be the only one. I am wondering if it is an isolated issue to the model or year; W210, W211, 2005 or maybe just mine. I hope I am alone with the problem because it is very annoying and I wouldn't want anyone else to be dealing with this, but if you are having this issue please let me know what you are doing about it. Also, if you are not sure, please put your car in manual and test it and let me know yiur findings. Simply put it in manual and slowly bring the revs through 3,500 RPM's. Is it smooth or do you get a weird kick in the transmission? Thanks everyone.

Mine did it when I accelerated slowly at 3500 rpm, but the next time I acelerated a little faster and it did it at 2500. Doesnt bother me, however.

Smile Thank you for checking

Maybe this is just the way the transmission is designed. It seems strange so I will be interested what other E55 owners are experiencing and they think about it.
