Rear CV axles removal DIY for E55?
Has anyone done em?
Any tips?
My CV boots are broken I think I have to replace the entire shafts.
Anyone have WIS instructions they can share?
I'll document the repair in a video and share it with the community

Just did ths. you can get the boot but they are can type axles and i could not find anyone to service them. I will say you MUST defalte the bag. if not you will be buying a new one. (ask me how I know). I used to butt conectors to slip over the middle and bottom pin on the bag and then toched the connected wires to a 18v battery from a dirll to release the pressure. I read you can do it with a 9v but that did not work for me. You will also need a prybar or something to pull the hub down enough to get the axle out. Lossen everything you are going to take apart before you rremove any bolts or you will never get evrything loose.
https://www.buymercedespartsnow.com/ this is hands down the least expensive place I couldl find the parts.

I have a bad boot too. I understand that they are not serviceable (from MB) but might be someone out there refurbishing them. My Car has 84K miles, I figured just replace them both and service the diff while there.

I found the boots (ill sell them to you at cost) and took the axles out. no one would work on them. they are "can" type and have to be cut open and a new top has to be pressed on. Trust i did not want to spend the money for new ones but had no choice. Last month i bought those, new shocks, an air spring (my fault) and got an alighnment. so 1400 + 850 + 430 + 225 = 2900 bucks and that is without labor since i did the work and all i wanted to do was replace the shocks. you have to pay to play unfortuanitly

Where did you buy the axles from?
