Leds for foglights
Hey folks.
Has anyone replaced the front fog lights with leds? There seems to be a wire that attaches to the H8 socket that then allows for a 9006 bulb to fit.
I by mistake got something that connects directly to the H8 but then it is hard to get that to stretch all the way to the fog lamp enclosure.
Checking to see if someone has experience replacing the fog lights with leds or am i better off with a 9006 standard bulb?
Thanks

They have the output to match my LED Headlights, about 18000 lumens so there pure white, not the blue hue you see with some others LED's.
I replaced my headlights, fog lights, license plate lights, trunk interior light, under dash and behind the front seats with LED's.
You will need the below resistors to eliminate the flickering effect cause by the LED fog lights.
https://www.superbrightleds.com/head...connection-kit
Controller Area Network (CAN bus) is a vehicle bus standard designed to allow microcontrollers and devices to communicate with each other’s applications without a host computer. The resistor acts as a CANBUS control unit. The purpose of the CANBUS control unit is to bypass a vehicle’s lamp failure detection system when using an LED retrofit light. Because LED car bulbs use a lower wattage than other bulbs, the CANBUS canceller or resistor helps to decrease the current safely and without damaging the bulb. This ensures that your vehicle doesn’t bring up any error messages and the LED can work as expected. In other words, the LED's use less voltage, than the incandescent bulbs your replacing, and your vehicle doesn't know how to deal with the issue (CANBUS), so the lights will flicker without a resistor.
I also went with these LEDs for the trunk, license plate and under the dash interior and behind the front seats.

They worked just fine for the trunk and license plate, but for the interior lights they flicker. So, I purchased these resistors but haven't installed them yet, to deal with the flickering effect.

So, I certainly hope that helps you out. Yuille36

I also replaced the puddle lights (under the door) with LED’s as well. And the best part they didn’t flicker. The only LED’s that have flickered was the fog lights which required resistors, that fixed that problem.
The under the dash lights and foot well lights behind the front seats flickered, I've soldered in the resistors, but still have flickering issues. Due to the CANBUS constantly measuring voltage, it cannot accurately measure the LEDs voltage therefore you have flickering.
Nothing I've tried worked, to solve this issue. I'm thinking of going back to incandescent bulbs, but first I might try Sylvania LED bulbs first, there $14 each. So, $50 bucks for 4 of them.
