2003 E55 Techtite over Blue Leather.
Wait Finally Over!!
Finally... After nearly 10 month son this forum and searching for countless potential cars to buy, I get to pick up my E55 tomorrow. I bought a used 03 Techtite E55 with practically every option except trunk closer, side roller blinds & distronic. Only has 5600 miles on it. Has the 2 tone interior (Blue)...
Bottom line... *****EN!!!
And here's the best part... I have never even test driven the E55 before. Ha, that's how much I love this car, I just know that I want one without even having driven it before. (I had a C320 for 3 years so it has to be at least as good as that car if not 1000 times better). You guys think I'm nuts? I'm curious to hear how many people actually bought theirs without driving it first. I read the CLS forum posts & noticed that there were people who have already put down deposits on those cars even though they are not available yet to drive.
BTW, anyone know how to change one's name on this forum?? (E55Soon no longer really applies)

Congrats man, its a far cry from your C-class. And its already broken in for you! Remember to feather the throttle. The E55 lights its tires like its sitting in oil! You will love it and you bought one just like I did, never drove one, but knew I was buying one anyway! Tectite Gray is a SICK color and they dont make it anymore so you lucked out in a way.

I can't wait. I doubt if I'll get much sleep tonight. This car is MINT Condition.. One of 4 cars that this guy owned. I assumed his lease with MBCC (took 3 weeks & a lot of hassle to complete all the paperwork over at DC in Texas). I was surprised how many I's to dot & T's to cross in the process, especially since my company has leased at least 5 previous cars through MB credit corp.
Man do I plan on havong a blast with the ride home up the 15 to the 210 into the SF Valley. I'll open the Pano roof and crank up the CD Changer.

I ordered mine without testdriving one, too. I guess I can even top your experience: When I ordered mine, I haven't even seen one in real (only pics in forum and brochure)!

I just got to test drive an used '04 last week (Holy Crap, that thing is fast!!)

Regarding the service issues.. It all checks out. I even met the guy this Morning at the dealer in Riverside, CA. He handed over all service docs. The car checks out beautifully. He even just had the brake module recall performed the day before. In 18 months, the guy put 6000 miles on it..NOT A SCRATCH EITHER! INTERIOR IS FLAWLESS. He didn't even drive it in the rain. He has an SL500 as well as a 10 year old S320 that he loves.
Man, that 90 mile drive back to Calabasas was a blast. 60-110 mph in no time. My neighbor asked me how fast will it go? I responded..."as fast as you want it to"
