Central Gateway

Central Gateway
So I was driving my E55 AMG back home I had a hour and 40 minutes to get home, while I was driving my dash malfunctioned, speedometer went to 0 RPM went to 0 all lights on dash, coolant hot etc, I pulled over to check coolant make sure it wasnt leaking or low and it was not, everything looked normal. I go back into the car and try to start it and there is no crank no start, I try a couple times and it started but did not want to go into gear it stayed on park. I turned the car off and tried again and it went to drive this time. I drove it to a oreillys but their scanner didnt pick up any crazy codes just some transmission fault. I disconnected the battery for a minute and the car started and dash worked perfectly fine and went into gear, I thought it solved the issue but when I went into the highway again it was killing the dash again then it went to normal then off and on. I took it home and the following day it didnt want to crank or start anymore. Ended up taking it to a INDY shop where they looked at everything and they said the starter is not getting signal or the trans. I told them to check the central gateway and they said it looked corroded and went and got one from the dealer and reprogramed it to the car. They told me the car gets connection to the starter now and the trans but the shifter doesnt know what gear it in so it wont crank or start. Do you guys think he coded it wrong or a shifter issue? any tips i would appreciate thanks.

Without knowing the current codes from Xentry, all is guesswork. What are the codes? Stored are good to know, current codes are critical information. Start with diagnostics before firing the parts cannon. One bad module can bring the entire system down. Been there, done that, got the T-shirt...
Xentry can assist, but will not always identify the defective module. You have to learn how to troubleshoot the CAN-Bus. Search for my posts with the tech info on CAN-Bus diagnostics.

took it to a euro shop, now they told me they dont have star or xentry but have something similar, but when they scanned the car it came back with zero faults. since they programed the new central gateway they get some faults but it comes back as unknown, will star be able to communicate better? I have not found a shop with xentry but I did find some that use star.

@Mello2024 In order to install a new central gateway module, it needs to be programmed. There is a whole initial start up process that needs to be performed.
