Aluminium pedals in E55?

Hey
I know a number of you have installed aluminium pedals from various other models (i dont know why the W211 E55 doesnt have it) into your E55s.

My question is whether SL pedals, or C sports coupe pedals etc will fit on the accelerator

I'm in Australia and the local dealer has told me he can get the brake and foot brake pedals but he doesn't know if the accelerator will fit onto the E-class's accelerator.

Your feedback is appreciated

The SL accelerator aluminum pedal cover fits right over the E55's stock accelerator. You cna try switching the whole unit, but I found that the SL's unit increased the idle speed of the E55 due to a different angle of the pedal and the drive by wire throttle. If you can just get the pedal cover from the SL, you should be able to easily slide it over the stock E55 pedal (undue two bolts, one harness and it comes right out) Hope this helps.

I have them on my E55...get them...I got them from Gerry @ formymercedes.com. You get a dead "pedal," accelerator, brake, and foot brake cover.

I did it myself...they look great...they all screw in except for foot break, which slips on. Make sure you pre-drill the holes...it took about 45 minutes...most of it just getting comfortable in that cramped space.

I'm leaning towards these, available for gas, brake, emergency brake, heel rest and dead pedal from ultimatepedals.com (they also do custom logos, special options):

Great looking pedal!! Two comments:

1. They may not feel too hot on bare feet
2. Those holes are going to get filled with crap

1. I never drive barefooted
2. I don't live on a farm LOL, J/K

I'm pretty careful about not tracking crap into the car - even have a spare set of driving mocs handy.

I think the pedals would be pretty easy to clean with brushing.

Mike
I saw pics of those a while ago, and sorry, but my first reaction was that they look kinda cheap. It appears the polished aluminum surface would get scratched easily, even with the rubber nubs - OTOH, I haven't seen them in person.

I started thinking about aluminum pedals after doing an invited Maserati drive event a few months ago - loved the look of the pedals (and the exhaust note).
