My E55 got himself a friend: 996TT (pics..56k no way)

I have had the E55 and an M3 for a while but I blew the M3 engine (typical connector rod BS) and decided it was time to step it up. I got myself a nicely priced 2003 996 TT with all the trimmings. The Sportec wheels are one piece forged and weigh 18lbs and 20lbs (front and rear). Here a few pics, a little too much sun though.

and a pic of my E....

Thumbs up

Holy S*&#! Say it all together now.....LIP!

Man what a dream stable, luxo rocket and pure sport rocket. Hard to beat. Congrats.

Nice MAYA's. Thinking of the MAYA RT-5's on by obsidian black E55 when the conti rubber is gone.

Vic, curious on the price on the 03 TT. Were the rims included? If not, what did those set you back? You can PM me.

Whaddya all think of these RT-5's??? Would they look good on my E55? Any comments would be appreciated.

The Kinesis wheels were not ready yet and the Sportec wheels offered the same weight savings and looks IMO. They actually were a little more in price but well worth it.

Nice! Just curious how's the ride? Is it too stiff or just right? You may want to look at getting either JIC or JRZ setup. I heard the JRZ is pretty solid.

Wow Congrats! Sportec stuff is so nice. Is there any other sportec parts on the car?

Actually I have the JIC coils right now, super stiff even in the medium setting.

Unfortunately the only Sportec items I have are the wheels. But this thing is bigger mod monster than the E55 as I have learned.

That is an incredible looking turbo, nicely done. One of my two favorite colors and I absolutely love those Sportec's. I too will be in the market for a 996TT come spring.

Thanks, I thought the color would be troublesome to take care of but it really isn't since its metallic. It actually is shade lighter than black in person.

I wish those Sportec's were available for my Benz, they are so damn light.

You should get the Renntech monolites if you want a light wheel. They also remind me of the sportecs on your TT in a way.

Sure, They make them in 18's and 19's for the E55. I somehow will guess you want 19's. :p For the E55 they have 19x9 and 19x10. I believe they weigh about 18-20 which is actually just like your sportecs.

Here is a pic of the monolite. (this is not a pic of the offset for the E55 though)
