M113K camshafts interchangeable? 5.5 AMG NA cams to M113K heads?
i just registred to this forum, so its my first post. I am Denis and i am writing from Poland.
I am building a W201 with the M113 5.0 (113960) engine that i will most likely supercharge.
Short story: Today i have got the M113K cylinder head that i ordered a couple of days ago. The first seconds of unboxing where amazing, because the heads are like new (about 18.000 miles driven), but shortly after i found out that they are without camshafts, so i am pretty angry right now. Of course there were pictures of "the" heads, but i called the seller and he told me that he does not anymore have those from the pictures, but he should still have heads from a engine which drove only 18.000 miles. He called me back after some time and told me that he has the heads and they are complete in perfect condition.
Today after unpacking i called the seller and he seemed suprised and he said he will call a friend to ask if he has the M113k cams available. He did not called me yet and its almost 6 hours after we talked, so it doesnt look good.
Now i am looking for cams, but i have found in this forum this information:
The sc cams are custom ground for each head and not interchangeable between engine types. Supercharger heads will fit a na block but the cams must be sc as well.
I am asking, because i can get the 5.5 AMG NA cams for 50 €uro, but the M113k are about 500,00 €.
I will not order the 5.5 AMG NA cams if they should not be installed to the M113k heads or even if its fine but they are worse for supercharging. I am just looking for a solution and i am a bit confused why the 5.5 AMG NA heads flow better.
Thanks in advance and best regards,
Denis
