Crank lock for valve stem seals.
Remember to just bring the piston up to each hole you are working on and even if a valve drops,and it will, it will just hit the piston.
Turning the engine is really a very small step to do so it's worth it to me but if not,lock it down,fill cylinders with air and do one at a time.
