Negative Camber tearing up tires W211 any solutions ?

2003 E55 the rear wheels are wearing on the inside big time I have 2500 miles on a new set of rear tires and the belt is starting to show. Car is sitting on BC coilovers is there anything on the market to fix this negative camber issue ....can't replace tires every 2500 miles. The alignment shop said they can't adjust anymore it's all maxed out.
Thank you for any suggestions.

OEM recommended camber range for wheels is:
Front - Negative 1.4 +/-0.3 degrees
Rear - Negative 1.7 +/- 0.5 degrees

If you car is outside this range, get rid of the BC coilovers. If you insist on keeping coilovers, go to the Eibach website and find taller springs that will bring your camber into the acceptable range. Low may look cool but it does not translate into handling or reasonable tire wear.

FWIW, if I was looking to purchase another W211 E55, if the Airmatic was removed, I would pass on the car.

Your circus, your monkeys.

REALITY IS TODAY'S MODELS (EVEN AMG PERFORMANCE MODELS) - Cost cutting and ever increasing speed of new car assembly lines Front Camber and Caster along with Rear Camber adjustment has been deleted !

Often quoted reassuring “FULL FRONT AND REAR ‘4’ WHEEL ALIGNMENT” - is now only basic TOE - directional adjustment (New car industry’s best kept secret).

No longer able to adjust tire contact angles - spread load more evenly to resolve costly premature tire replacement.

High cambered roads with excess passenger side edge wear. Or inner edge wear both sides through lowering or load carrying. Excess outer edge wear through performance driving. No longer the ability to compensate for curb knock damage.

We saw the need therefore and manufacture Front and Rear BOLT-ON KITS. Designed so no special tools needed to fit or need for time consuming control arm removal !

K-MAC unique patented design also allows easily accessible and precise “single wrench” adjustment. ULTIMATE - Direct on alignment rack UNDER LOAD !

Also same time Front and Rear kits replacing the highest wearing bushes !

your bushings are likely busted go with KMAC's like I did. a solid monoball design so there is no movement thus if your alignment is correct, it'll stay correct as there is no bushing to go bad or flex.

as I already have this kit and your complete kit wasn't available then. I'd like to eliminate all rubber in my suspension arms front and rear. your website doesn't seem to be showing (website is not indexed correctly, the part is there but doesn't return in vehicle search. also, website is just very hard to navigate and use), but I have the camber & caster extra kit which includes a new steel upper adjustable camber arm. if not, thats fine, i can order your full rear bushing replacement kit in the near future. or if you could just package a full max adjustable front and rear bundle would be easier for folks.

Hi

#502526-1M (Airmatic), #502526-2M (Coil Spring)

Above reply (#4) did not list this rear upper Camber arm kit for W211 As superceded by lower arm kit (#502526K and 502126-1K).

#502526K / #502126-1K being easier to fit (no arm removal) and far easier to precisely adjust (single wrench direct on alignment rack under load).

Providing up to 2 “extra” degrees Positive or Negative Camber (plus extra Toe to compensate). Bushes are also uprated eliminating the OEM soft rubber !

“Upper rear Camber arms” also disadvantage of adjusting outwards - when wanting to resolve excess inner edge wear. Which reduces important clearance top of tire to outer fender.

So now only recommend - for those wanting a stance look “extra wide tires” and adjusting top of tire to lean “inwards” (increasing - not reducing Negative Camber) to gain outer fender clearance !

NOTE: Re other mention of eliminating all rubber in rear suspension.

W211 models #502528K (or #502528-1K for AMG) this kit uprates the ‘6’ rear “multi link” arm bushes !

Produced after many inquiries re wanting to eliminate rear end flex gain tauter response. Less wheel tramp / loss of traction - especially when applying power to lane change / overtake.

You mention alignment shop said - “rear is maxed out re Camber adjustment” !

As explained above THERE IS NO (Front or Rear) CAMBER ADJUSTMENT OEM !

K-MAC rear Camber (and extra Toe) kit for your E55 AMG is #502526K

Provides up to extra 2 degrees Positive or Negative Camber. More than enough to resolve any costly premature tire wear issues.

Fit without need for special tools or time consuming need to remove control arms.

Is precise easily accessible single wrench adjustable. Ultimate - direct on alignment rack UNDER LOAD.
