I had a choice of black or silver, until I saw Capri Blue. Haven't seen that many color around so I got that instead, turns a lot of heads when I'm cruisin' down the 405 fwy.

I've had three Brilliant Silver E class cars. It's a classic MB color and don't show the dirt as much as darker colors. It seems like nearly every car on the road these days around here are either silver, gray or black. Obsidian Black is nice but hard to keep clean up here in rain country. I like the new Granite Gray color because it changes hues so there is something interesting to my eye when I look at it. I think I would go with this color if I was in the market for a new E55.

ThemisN,
Your car is incredible. I am seriously considering switching my order from Obsidian to Flint just because of your pictures. When I went to the MB dealer, they had an S55 in Flint, which was stunning. It seems like every E55 is either gray or black. Flint is a great color. I like the hints of blue, but not too overbearing.
Good choice.
Where is that picture taken in NJ? It looks like a parking lot near a law firm in North Jersey.

Seriously, take a bunch of shots - inside/outside, from all angles.

Has anyone seen the E55 in Black Opal? I was a beautiful day yesterday in Southern California (in the 80s and very sunny) and I decided to drive down to South Bay MB to see their lineup. I was hoping to get a glimpse of the Obsidian Black in the sun (which I did), but was really intrigued by the Black Opal. I only saw it on a C-class and ML-class (no E-class in that color) and it looked incredible. In the sunlight, it looked like a really deep blue-black, with a hint of green. That would be great. The salesperson said that it has a tendency to look purplish in certain lights (which is not the greatest). I'd be interested to hear if anyone has this color and how they feel about it.
BTW, the Diamond Silver for the CLK is phenomenal. I'm not a big silver car fan (to me, silver tends to look light gray as it ages or when dirty), but I saw the Diamond Silver next to a Brilliant Silver and it made a world of difference. I would say that the Diamond Silver has the slightest (and I mean slightest) hint of blue, but the slight hue change works wonders.

I have Black Opal '04 E55. It's really more of a midnight blue (metallic). Another beautiful color is Capri Blue - it's looks too light via color samples on MB's site, but I saw it at a car show on a new CLK and was stunned.
I'm happy with Black Opal. I made some exterior upgrades and my car now looks really nice - IMO. I have no problems with this color showing the dirt too easily, such as with a flat black color. Car looks really dressy at night.

You have to admit, I don't think the E55 looks bad in any color. I haven't seen one that I don't like, it's just that sharp of a design.
1. Flint
2. Tectite
3. Silver
4. Black

Ditto.....MBAMGPWR
That would be my exact order of choice.
Having seen the Flint on the E55 I now have something to aspire
towards owing...as soon as I loose my pizzaz for my clk55...it's paid 4
so unless I win the lottery, I'm gonna have to wait a little!!
Hmmmm, the Flint E55 make me drool though!!
