Hooking car up to laptop?

Hooking car up to laptop?
Are there any mods to be done with the laptop, at dealer, that will make any HP increases? Example- changing fuel maps. Everything is stock for now. I have thought seriously of changing to K&N filters. (All this is going on the fact I can talk the tech. into doing the changes. )
