'04 E55 Weird Code - P203D-001
Could it possibly be a vacuum hose leaking or something? I also know the driver side air intake hose doesn't clip on to the air dam on the grille as its the incorrect part. Ive ordered the new correct part, and it goes in tomorrow hopefully. I took off the valve cover a couple weeks ago to reseal and put a new gasket due to leaks. So can a loose coil or boot cause this? I cleared the code, turned it on, and it didnt reappear after letting it idle to temp. However, after taking it out for a couple of WOT pulls, I checked again after pulling in to driveway and its back.
From what I understand the sensor does nothing but report a major discrepancy, will trip the mil light if unpluged or does not see the timing gear rotating, and has no timing control / effect. I don't know what they where thinking with it during design....maybe for engine start up ?

idk what it is but it drives smooth and only light rough idle at P. Nothing in D or R. No CEL.
