Instrument Cluster Faults 2004 E55 AMG
Hi,
I have two faults with my instrument cluster. Firstly the reset button will not reset the trip odometer . It will still work when turned to increase/decrease the brightness of the illumination in the display though.
Secondly there is no illumination in the display unless the main lights are on .
I am sure this wasnt always the case unless I am losing my marbles. There is lighting behind the temp and fuel indicators at the sides but none in/behind the main gauges so the cluster and gauges look dark when driving during the day. Can someone please check their cars and let me know if my insanity is as advanced as my wife keeps telling me it is?
Does anyone know if the reset stalk can be replaced or repaired ? Also if I do have a lighting fault is this likely to be in the Instrument cluster itself or in a SAM ?
