E55 gauge question

E55 gauge question
why is that the E55, CLK55 and G55 AMG's speed gauge only go up to 160 mph when other AMG models go up to 200 mph? just wondering....does anyone know the reason?

In the US (which is what I imagine you are speaking of) the 2005 E55 speedo goes to 200mph, I believe. I think the 2003 SL55 only goes to 160 as well... can't remember for sure.

Mine is a 2004 and only goes to 160. RPM gauge also has no redline indicators. My buddy has a 2005 and he does have redline indicators on his gauge.
