New Designo Graphite E55
Sorry for the lack of exterior pictures, but the car is a mess. I told them not to detail it since they normally butcher it and since I am having clear-bra and tinting done in two days I didn't bother to clean it. Got it with 13 miles on it last night, have 387 now =p
I'll post more after a decent cleaning and some Zaino

Sweet. Graphite is my favorite color, but couldn't justify the price as I also like obsidian. Can't wait for some nice exterior shots. Good Luck with the beast.

Looking GORGEOUS, Dave!
I'm a big fan of the black birdseye maple trim, but your Poplar looks GREAT! As others have said, Graphite is just a killer color - let's get those exterior shots posted quickly.
Enjoy - you've waited a long time for this and I hope it exceeds all your expectations!

SL 65 AMG and E63s AMG
SWEET
Are you going to get a wood steering wheel? The poplar wood looks very similar to my burled walnut. Might just be the pictures though. My Dad's SL had poplar and it appeared to be much lighter than yours.

No wonder there was no response to my query earlier for photos of the Designo Graphite edition. You didn't have the car yet! Really looks classy. Looking forward to more exterior shots.

I've run out of room to get another car. I have too much invested in my 89 to get rid of it. My wife's due for a car in two years and it will most likely be a SL55/65. Both the kids will be driving and she won't need a back seat. I doubt that I'll get another BMW. Too many problems. Build quality sucks.

Thanks all!
I can't believe it, but this thing actually exceeds my expectation. I took delivery on PS2's so maybe that's why I don't understand all of the handling complaints (My Z4 was the daily driver for a bit, .98g skidpad and I autoX it). Great car...
Beowulf: Thanks! I was terrified that I wouldn't like the Poplar. I had asked for the birds eye and they wouldn't do it with the designo, not even for an up-charge, I really like it.
Vetluver: 1st off; My fiancée is a Veterinarian, is your name in reference to the animal doctor or the soldier who fought in a war?Anyway, as to your question: I am going to get the wood steering wheel, I just want to travel to where I can see one to ensure it matches.
Vitaman: Luminar tint at 20%. I had 20% on my M3 and I thought it was too dark. I had 35% on my S6 and I thought too light. So I am going with 20% since I got the Pano Roof and will usually keep the covers open. The M3 had a solid moon-roof and I think that is part of what made the tint appear so dark.
