The beast seems even faster with this cold weather
I live in Wisconsin and hadn't driven my e55 for several weeks. The past few days here it has been close to zero degrees but sunny with dry and clear roads so I brought the e55 out for a little winter driving. I didn't do any measurements but it definitely feels faster. I also learned it is best to let the stock Contis warm up before giving too much throttle.(thank you esp) Anyway it was fun to have the beast out again.

R U sure it's because it's cold or is just because you haven't driven it in a few weeks and totally forgot the power of the beast> It's nice to pull it out and have feeling of power again when it's locked up for awhile.. I can't wait til spring when it gets nicer out..
I live in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada and the air is dense here and the gasoline is 94 Octane.. and my baby loves the air and prem gas, only thing it hates is the wet roads..

I thought it was because colder air = denser air so you get more 'combustion'.
Really made a difference because yall have FI cars.
Even I can feel that it's faster on all my N/A cars.

OF COURSE! Your car is definitely faster when the air is colder - this supports the theory of a supercharger -- colder, condensed air = MORE HORSEPOWER

Yes I know cold air is denser and really makes a difference in FI cars. I think these engines are capable of a lot more power with mods to keep the engine cool. I noticed a lot of you are adding pulleys and such but this engine already has trouble handling the heat. I think I would add mods to make it run cooler before adding boost.

The Colder the Intake temp-The more power an engine will make-Period!!!
With forced induction motors-If you can get intake temps anywhere between 0 - 30 degrees- The performance improvement is HUGE!!!!
You are not imagining anything- The extra performance is for real.
I live in S.Florida and my 1/4 mile trap speed varies 5 mph from hot to cool
90 degrees- 114 mph @ end of 1/4 to
40 degrees- 119 mph @ end of 1/4 BTW....Traction control is going crazy
at real low temps.
Happy motoring all you guys in the cold north!!

I agree! I also live in Wisc. I rarely take it out if there is any sign of salt on the road. Last nite, I was driving down a road around 30mph and got on it and with esp off, it twisted all over the place. I then hit it from 45-50 mph and i swear the wheels spun...
