M5 vs e55 what to get?
I have a 2000 clk430 convertible and am ready to upgrade and am on the fence about a 2006 M5 or a 2004 or 2005 E55. I am sure there are people in this forum that have had the M5 as would love to know your thoughts. I have heard that the v10 takes a while to get going but once it does it pulls like a train while the e55 had power right off idle. I would think the e55 would be more fun and practical as would not want to have to rev the m5 high to get the 500hp out of it.
I do know from the BMW's I have driven that the handle excellent and that would be the one plus over the e55 and second that it is newer and have found a few with extended maintenance plans that will take the car through 2012 without any expense put tires. The best price I have found is about 40K and know I could find an e55 for about 32K or so.
Any thoughts here. I really need to get out and drive the two.

Correct, E55 is power right off the bat...and I mean serious power. I think I've posted an E55 VS M5 comparison way back in the day.
Having driven both a lot, I choose the E55.
