2010 E63 Pricing
Considering a fully optioned E63, MSRP 110k. What discount should I expect at this time? I was offered 10K over the phone. Any confirmed and worthwhile changes to the 2011 model?

You should be able to get a pretty good deal, after shopping multiple dealers, I picked up my 2010 E63 with P2, Night View Assist, Parktronic, Drivers Assist Pack, Illuminated door sills, & carbon fiber trim ($102,425 MSRP) for $89,000. Also got top dollar for my trade in (2008 Jeep SRT8, 26,000 mi., bought it for $38,000 in 2008, traded in for $33,000)
The E63 was not a vehicle they had in stock, they shipped it in from another state. Dealers with cars in stock may give you a better deal.

Friend in SoCal just bought one for $25k off this past Thurs after hearing someone else getting the same deal. Looks like Mercedes is offering Trunk Money again this year. Sorry, don't have the dealers name. He did mention there are several units in SoCal.

Yeah, I'm reading people are getting $25-29k off. Same thing happened with the last of the W211s last year, but this W212 is still in production. Plus there are only minor changes in the 2011 MY. I wonder what will happen when the TT motors are eventually announced (or when a real dual clutch tranny replaces the MCT?) ![nix](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/nixweiss.gif)
I guess E63s aren't selling that well right now.

2010 E63 Pricing
If any of you are waiting, this is the time to get into a e63 and time it to get the TT in 2-3 years.
I'm getting out of a lease with 9 months to go, getting in to a 2010 with P2 + carbon ($98K) for 27K off, including the 9 lease payments.
I thought I did good with the 2008 e63 I purchased from the same dealership 2 years ago (23K off).
BTW, I've tried googling the incentives and cannot find them anywhere (kbb.com, edmunds, etc.), other than anecdotal stories.
Happy Buying!!

I called my local dealer and he laughed. Then I called another one and he laughed too. The best I could get was $14K off. If anyone has a reference at $25K+ off please PM me. I am a buyer at that price.

To all:
While I have a 2011 on order that is due to arrive in a week or so which I am very excited to get, seeing those kind of discounts has caused me to re-think whether to proceed with the 2011 or eat my special order deposit and purchase a 2010 that might not be my ideal color/options combo.
So I tried the big Los Angeles/Newport Beach area dealers and the best they would do is a flat $20k off list. The big Chicago area dealer I tried topped out at $15k off list. There may be better negotiators out there than me but with $$ in hand ready to go I could not get the LA dealers over $20k off. Essentially, they told me they can sell every one they have left (and the supply is dwindling quickly) at that discount so why concede any more. Maybe the dealerships have more flexibility if you are leasing rather than buying??
At 20k off a 2010 less losing my special order deposit of $3k (I appreciate some would say you may be able to get that back - but I made that deal so would need to give that up) and the cost to ship the car by enclosed transport to Chicago of $1,400 (if you don't ship it out of state, you have to pay CA sales tax on purchase) -- while a closer call than I would like to admit, I think I will stay with my 2011 on order. An additional $7k or 8k off (i.e., $27k or 28k off list in total) would have tipped the balance for me to the 2010. That would be the deal of the century - but even $20k off (if you are willing to purchase in So Cal) is a great deal for a great new car. That's even less than the used 2010s are pricing at - which makes for an unusual market dynamic right now for those with the right info.
I always have to keep in mind that we should never buy an AMG car, or any car for that matter, with any grand visions of how well they will retain their value. So you better like what you are getting . . .

I don't think anyone will get one at that kind of discount for a 2010. for a 2009 I'm sure you'll get $25-$30,000. Maybe in a few more months when the 2011's are in the showroom. The E63's are not moving but they can't give them away yet. I got $14000 of mine a few weeks ago, I think thats the best they will do now

Discounts
I looked pretty hard as well and could only get $15k off of a 2010 (you can find these on ebay - at least you could up until this weekend). My local dealer here in Houston discounted a 2011 $7k that is due in this week - black on black. The MSRP before options on the 2011's is $87,600 - just an FYI. I believe this pricing was just released today.

I'm not a lawyer, but I'll assume that the deposit is refundable. I'd talk to the dealer and work the angle towards a 2010 since most dealers are trying to make overall and AMG sales quotas.
Best of Luck...at the end of day...buy/lease what you want...value is in the eye of the beholder.

Got the firm info on the trunk money. If a dealership sells TWO E63's this month they get $15,000 trunk money per car. 1 E63 and it's only $5,000. So a small dealer with only one car isn't going to deal. But a larger dealer can. Figure about $8,000 average markup from invoice on a car and I think you should be able to swing a $22,500 off deal now from a larger dealer.

The problem with the trunk money is that not all dealers are taking the risk of selling only 1 E63 on their lot but the money is there. PM me if anyone wants to get an E63 at those discount levels because it will need to take more than 1 buyer to do it.

Peter, I sent you a message - can you give me the info for the dealer?
I contacted another dealer today and he'd give me $20k off on a $99k sticker. I'm debating on whether or not to take him up on it. I'm currently getting a 2011 at a $7k discount so I'd save $10K if I assume $1k for shipping. Trying to determine if it's worth it.

Texasagg:
I had been wrestling with the same question you are. Like you, my deal on the ordered 2011 was good, but not relative to the big discounts on the remaining 2010s. I think that the $10k difference between what you will pay for the 2011 and what you would pay (after shipping) for the 2010 (with possibly more/different options than you would have ordered) reflects the depreciation on the 2010s as opposed to being a "better" deal than the 2011. I would think you would need to save more than that to make the 2010 a better deal than the 2011 you ordered. I appreciate that saving $10k by itself is real money - I just mean looking at each deal objectively rather than concluding simply that it is always better to pay less.
In my case, I really wanted a particular color and options combo and just didn't want to justify my choice for as long as I have the car by reminding myself that while not exactly what I wanted it sure was a great deal. In your case, if I recall, you are getting a black on black which you should be able to easily recreate in a 2010 given that is the most popular color choice. I think that makes your decision tougher than mine. Good luck with your decision.
Kind regards
