Yeah and inside trunk lid, etc.. There's a guy who lives near me who has a wrapped E60 M5 and only the body is wrapped so it looks odd when doors are opened, etc.. Plus he has a couple of rock chips in the front and it looks like the vinyl could be easily picked at and parts of it pulled away. ![nix](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/nixweiss.gif)
A vinyl wrap isn't for everybody but it is an inexpensive way to change the car's look. And you can always change your mind later

It seems that most of the guys vinyl wrapping their cars do so for immediate looks, and then we never hear from them again or they sell their cars a year later. They claim it's a "5-7 year vinyl" but I'd just like to see one up close after 15,000 miles of use.

Sucks to know that I was wrong in my assumptions then.

This is the stuff I've never received a straight answer to. When I've asked about rock chips before, there doesn't seem to be much response.

Vinyl wrapping started with advertising graphics (a company here called Crush Creative in Burbank did the first big commercial wrap on the Las Vegas monorail.) Then it took off as an aftermarket car thing. But in the end I don't think it's worth the $$ doing a personal car. As a show car shoot for an ad placement or something, sure. But I'd think I'd rather do a Pebble Beach paint job for personal use. Might cost 3-4x as much but it's paint with a solid clear coat.
Nothing against the OP's car, it looks really good.

I'd also like to know how they get the vinyl off w/out leaving residue and marks all over the paint. It's advertised as "will not harm the paint, it protects it."
Anyway, door-sill pics PLEASE.

Straight enough?
