2020 Audi R8 V10, 2016 AMG GTS, 2018 E63S Edition 1, 2018 Porsche GTS Cab, 2012 C63 BS
1. Remove the two covers on the oem license plate lights(phillips head).
2. Remove the trunk carpet.
3. Remove the plastic piece around the trunk latch(requires a torx wrench or screwdriver set.)
4. Remove the license plate. There is a screw behind it with a rounded off head. You have to use a 5/16" nut driver from the inside(gold nut). One that comes off, you can pop the outside panel off. Just be very careful not to bend it too much. It could crack the paint. Once that panel is off, it's cake. The hardest part once it's all apart is pushing on the tabs on the existing housings to remove them. It takes some elbow grease, but they should come right out.
That's basically it. It was only difficult when I didn't realize the trunk panel came off. One I got that off, it was a walk in the park.
