E63 v S63 5.5 TT with Perfomance Pack
You may have already seen this but it was the first performance test I have seen for the new 5.5 TTv8 from a more obscure source (at least for us in the U.S.). Autobild (Germany) has compared the current E63 with the new S63 5.5TT with the performance pack. It is no surprise that the much lighter E63 outperformed the S63 on the track and was the favorite of that author (read with the help of the Google translator), but what was particularly interesting to see were the straight line performance figures:
E63 0-60 in 4.3 sec and quarter mile in 12.42
S63 0-60 in 4.3 and quarter mile in 12.38.
As the S63 is 700 pounds heavier than the E63 (according to Autobild), that 5.5 TTV8 with the performance pack is a monster. The tests I have seen from the S63 with the 6.2V8 had it running about 0.5 sec behind the E63 in the quarter mile - so that is a good half second pick up. I know the CLS (and likely the E Class in 2013/14??) will get a slightly de-tuned version of that engine (550 horse power in performance pack guise), but I am sure it will be similarly impressive.

Out Of Control!
Why did they choose the S63 platform to compare it with the E when like what you said the S63 is 700lbs heavier? I get that the S63 is packing the new V8 TT PP but it's kind of a wash when it's also 700lbs heavier. Interesting read though.
They should put that V8TT PP in the new upcoming C-Coupe Black Series! Now that would be evil!
