DIY Help? W212 Headlights

I had a left front headlight bulb go out today, I removed the cover but cant figure out how to remove the socket to expose and remove the bulb and replace? Anyone done this yet?

You might want to try the regular W212 forum as this is the AMG forum and we dont have front fogs.

He said headlight bulb??

Do you have xenon or halogen lights? Being a 2010, I would assume the vehicle is still under warranty. The dealer should be able to fix that free of charge.

Yes, correct it was a headlight not fog and it is halogen not xenon. Being the wend with service closed, which is why I was attempting to change myself so I dont have to drive around with what looks like one eye closed.

Did you get it taken care of? I haven't personally replaced a halogen bulb on a 212... But normally there is a spring type retainer or a rotating lock ring for the bulb. Make sure to note the orientation of the bulb, or the lamp may not project properly.

Not yet and you are correct, thats exactly how the W211 is secured but this one is so deeply set that you cant see it and work on it at the same time so you look, then feel and I cant see where anything is to release. May have to wait for MB to do it since next week its in there to fix the rear shade.
