To Badge or DeBadge?
I think I will debadge once mine arrives, just wanted to get some input....
and feelings of others....
thanx gents.........
But it's totally subjective, so just do what you want to do. You can always add them back on. They're simple to take off and on (but the OEMs are expensive to buy at the dealer.) I also find that the extra plus is when you are polishing and sealing the paint. I don't have to tape off the badges; the Porter Cable is easier to use over the large bare surfaces.
And I think the fender badges are too much bling.... anyway the motor is a 6.2 and not a 6.3

I usually associate (My Opinion) debadgers as cars that have been in accidents or owners who are trying to hide their deficient engine or model status.
Edit: I took one badge off my GTR- the nissan hamburger on the trunk.

At AMG Germany badging is optional. Owning M3s and peaches belies your argument. Put a Farmers Market badge on the 997 so you can go green.
As the population explodes keep a low profile.

as I said ... my opinion...
Anyway, the OP needs to figure it out himself. Just do what you feel comfortable with doing. But hopefully everybody here bought their cars for themselves and not to impress others.
I just like the cars without stickers all over them. It's my personal preference. Plus I know the car I drive and don't feel any desire to tell everybody else what it is.
but it seems like a lot of guys do want to leave the badge on to show it off.....
that business about being a poser is hilarious.........
we americans DO care to much about what others think.........

I don't know what you're saying. Farmers Market badge? Population explosion? Leasers who have badges? Where are you going with this and what kind of statement, if any are you trying to make?
IMO owning a G500 Refrigerator that hasn't seen a redesign since the Titanic shipped out belies ANY opinion you may offer.

They redesigned the Range Rover many times and it is still found wanting.

I personally don't like the debadged look. I think it looks cool with them on. The closest I would go to "debadging" is probably painting them black.
I'm sure you want to take them off for your own personal reasons as well.

btw, you're joking about the G Wagen, right? It's probably the best 4x4 out there. Why mess with a great platform? The thing is perfect (and either in the desert, the rainforest, or just around town.) Richard Hammond called it the "coolest car in the world" on a Top Gear episode. It's also one of the toughest built.
If I wanted a real 4x4 I'd get the Geländewagen in a heartbeat. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4zKwl...eature=related
And since we're talking about badges, I live in a very small California coastal community (pop. 11,000.) Lots of the residents are well-known celebrities and there are around 10 G Wagens here.
Anyway, having both a CL55 and a G500 is a pretty decent combo, imho.
