COMMAND System Play Videos?
I have the COMMAND system on my 2010 with the P2 package. I looked at Mid City Engineering's VIM212 to be able to play video in motion, but before that I wanted to see how I would go about playing video to begin with.
Does the system allow me to play videos off my iPod? Or does the built-in changer play DVDs? How would I confirm what my capabilities are with the car (it was a purchase of a used car).

To play videos from your iPod, you would need our Video In MOtion package. Otherwise, if you want to play from the DVD only, you can use Mid City's VIM212 or our VideoKey. Both do the same thing.

Where can I purchase or have the Video In Motion package installed?
Alternatively, does Mid City's VM212 provide a video input/output so I can just connect a BD/DVD player (via HDMI or whichever interface)?

You can read all about the two systems (Video In Motion and the VideoKey) at our site at Cartronics.com
Nutshell: Videokey - unlocks all functions that are available in park, even while driving.
Video In Motion - gives you 3 video inputs (1 typically used for a reverse camera, plus two more) for hooking any device you want to the car (iPod video, external DVD, Android Video, etc etc)
