ECU Tuning Group - E63 Tune

Once again, Bay Area ETG came through and reprogrammed an E63 and SL55 AMG. We have been reprogramming these cars since they first entered the market. Gains from the E63 are 32hp & 28lbs tq. Removing the ECU, particularly in the w212 E63 2010 and 2011, is very difficult because it is located under the passenger side wheel well. Common features along with increased power are: remove the speed limiter, raise the rpm, remove the hesitation/flat spots, improve the throttle response and shifting.

Thank you MBworld

Below are a couple pics. Enjoy!!

.........I see my car in the picture. Now I understand the reason why I was not able to pick up my car yesterday. thanks for the explanation for the process.

Hopefully I will be able to feel the difference today. I know the additional power and torque may not be that detectable........I mainly hope to see the improved throttle curve to get rid of the hesitation when I push it all the way.

I am curious that does the new ECU alter (improve) gear shift timing?

The car was reprogrammed and completed within a couple hours. Maybe additional time was needed at the dealership for other various work.

And Yes, the ECU upgrade does improve gear shift timing.

Just got back the car and am glad to feel the hesitation reduce. The ECU is reset so it is now re-learning my driving style.

About in 10 rounds, 0-60 time improved from 4.5 sec (first try) down to 4.0 sec. The gear shift timing seems getting better as I kept driving aggressively. Thus, the hesitation feel is reducing as well.

I will keep training it a bit and see how much more improvement there is.

I really appreciate my service manager who introduce me to this upgrade and he was with me while doing the first few runs.

I used RaceLogic GPS to measure the time. So, it is pretty accurate.

4.0 sounds very quick to me.

indeed. I got the GPS few months after having the car in 2010. I tried many many times with different ways of launch and under different weather condition. The best ever was 4.1.

I am quite pleased to get 4.0 only in 10 tries (road was even a bit wet due to light rain) during ECU learning process. The other improvement I sensed was when exiting a corner. The acceleration now is faster and with noticeable either torque or throttle response.
