2012 E63 AMG Dyno Run Results with Video

Hi all,

So I finally had some free time to go take my car over to a Dyno and have it tested.
Here are the results.
Car was in Dyno mode (special option in HUD menu that truely turns off all traction controls)
Car was in 4th gear.

I am posting this video because it was humerous to see the first run over torque the dyno wheel, you can see it if you watch closely on the first pull

Here is a youtube video of the actual Pull taking place. Its was nice to hear my exhaust from the outside of the car
http://youtu.be/9tj14OzZhss

Thanks,
Russell

yes, it has the PP. The HP numbers came in pretty good considering that is numbers to the wheel.

No mods at all. Just wanted to see what it would put out versus what the factory numbers state

yea, I don't know how it came in at such high torque to the wheels. Factory rating for PP is 550HP and 590 of torque

I know nothing about Air/Fuel ratios but what I read related to it is:

It's measured at the tail pipe (mine was), isnt it actually running richer than the graph shows. reading another thread, there was mention that the CAT leans the reading out by .5.

It also seems like people target in the mid 12's?

P.S. Stock yes... But with the Performance Package. Its quite possible they are tuning it leaner as part of the PP option (in addition to increasing boost) to get the extra HP gains.

Yeah I saw you there at PSI on monday. I was the owner of the black E55. I had new HRE's put on, and when I walked outside to check out how the car looked I saw yours out there and immediately thought "of course, someone had to one-up me haha". Loved the look of your car though man, so clean. Impressive numbers as well, congrats!

Plus who cares. It's their headache if something blows long as she is stock.

Obscene numbers for a stock car!
However, do keep in mind that DynoJet numbers are 12% optomistic compared to other Dynos.

Those stock turbos appear to be undersized with so much torque down low.
With a turbo swap that torque woud be even higher at higher RPM, but then there would be lag to deal with.

Concur and some dyno dynamics run 15% light- I know the Gintani dyno for OE tuning has 10 second cars that only pull 500 rwhp on their dyno.

More like 10% light on RWHP, (I've seen Alan's & others Dyno's from both Jeremy's DD & Autowaves DD that's set to read DynoJet #'s) but that same DD @ OE/Gintani, spits out the same or slightly higher RWTQ #'s seen on DynoJets for those 10 second cars making 500 RWHP, very odd indeed & reason a properly set DynoJet is still Industry Standard..

Problem is majority of people hate REAL numbers & want inflated bragging rights, so Dyno shops often cater to these needs (to sell more Dyno time) & set DynoDynamics/Mustang/SuperFlow -"Load-Bearing dynos" to read like "DynoJets-Inertia-Dyno's" or slightly higher & also set a lot of DynoJets to read still higher (you have to do your own research on the Shops you use & learn how to properly read Dynos & know inherent differences between them all) Taken me years

& as you & most knowledgeable members here know the 1/4 mile Track is the the ONLY true litmus test of a cars "Real World Performance" Dyno machines should ALL just be used as they were intended "Tuning-Tools" to show Gains & Losses between modifications..

Posting a Baseline UN-Corrected single Dyno run doesn't validate any True performance, it just gives the OP a Baseline to measure future Gains when adding mods etc..

Those numbers are amazing! Makes me want to dyno the E63 and see what it puts out against your numbers.

Just to be clear, it was not a single dyno run. It was 4 pulls and the numbers were consistent across the pulls. I only posted one of the pulls and a video.

I mainly had it put on the Dyno just for the fun of it. I am not stupid enough to think this tells some story that my car is better or worse than anyone else's stock 2012 E63. I mainly posted it on here as a historical record because if enough people do it over time, you start to get a database of numbers which can help others someday, which is just a way of trying to contribute to the forum. I also do understand that no all Dyno's are created equal...

However, stating that the 1/4 is the true test of a cars performance is also not the whole story.... air temp, tires used, altitude, skill of the driver all come into play on QTR mile times. So those have to be taken with a grain of salt too

Thanks
Russell
