just dyno'd my stock 11' e63....
hey guys
so Eurocharged came down to Montreal today and i was originally supposed to get my ECU flashed but it turns out that when i brought in my car for service last week because of my 8th CEL in a month...the guys at MB told me that they need to replace my ECU and that ill only get it by next week lol
great timing and great luck...lol wtvr ill have to ship it out to them instead...sucks though...
anyways, long story short i decided to get my car dyno'd...for before and after purposes...
there were 2 ppl with c63 p31 and they all got around 429~431 whp
and i got 418~421 whp...isnt the E63 stock supposed to be more powerful?? isnt the M156 tuned higher in the E than in the C? i dont get it...
anybody else dyno their cars and got similar results???
ALSO,i did a before and after with a charcoal delete and K&N filters and i actually lost power at around 4000-4500...theres like a dip on the dyno....wtf??!!! lol did anyone have this issue??

Some people felt in the past it was the MCT that lead to the big drops. Were the C63's MCT's??
But the recent 63TT dynos are revealing that the MCT is not dropping that much power .... or the TT's are underrated.

nice.....so basically, those results are odd... i was pretty annoyed to see that the stock output on a car thats supposed to be 518 has less power than a c63 thats in the 480's....

My E63 dyno'd 370 on a stupid low dynodynamic reader in 100 degree weather. They told to adjust about 15% upwards on this dyno based on the countless dyno comparos they had done with same cars on different dynos. This meant I was around 430-435 hp. But my car ran just fine in rolling races with stock c63's.
Too bad you didnt get to do a few runs with those cars. That would have given you some real world perspective.

Vic,you have a great point...
i mean in the end even the dyno guy told me that you can't rely solely on the exact output of ones car from a dyno ...its basically a measuring tool to be used when modding...to obviously let you know that wtvr you're doing to your car either helps or unfortunately does'nt...
he did tell me at least that im the most consistent out of the cars that day...i dunno whether i should be happy or not...maybe he told me that so that i can feel better

Actually based on the many dynos runs posted/done on the boards it seems almost to the norm- the MCT cars dyno with less hp.

Vic has a point here about the MCT... I remember when the 2010 E63 first came out, we saw them dyno consistently lower (by about 10 to 20 hp) than the 07-09 E63s and CLS63 on the same dyno. Back then, everyone thought it was either because the cars were too new (not broken in yet) or that the MCT was "eating-up" a bit more hp than non-MCT-equipped cars. As more time passed, more and more cars were getting broken in and dynoed at different places, but the small hp variation remained the same. In my opinion though, a variation that small, is nothing to worry about. And as Vic mentioned earlier, without a direct rolling race between your car and those other C63s, it would be hard to say that your car is slower because it has less hp.

Do you guys really think it's the MCT?
If the MCT is the cause then 2012 C63's would dyno lower.
Is this the case?
There are alot of other variables at play comparing CLK, C63, W211 to W212.

how is a c63 pulling 430ish with a 480 crank with pp and 455 crank without, it should be closer to 360-380- maybe 395 with pp. E should be closer to 430.
granted the % loss would be something I don't know about on these cars since I don't have one yet.

hey guys
so Eurocharged came down to Montreal today and i was originally supposed to get my ECU flashed but it turns out that when i brought in my car for service last week because of my 8th CEL in a month...the guys at MB told me that they need to replace my ECU and that ill only get it by next week lol
great timing and great luck...lol wtvr ill have to ship it out to them instead...sucks though...
anyways, long story short i decided to get my car dyno'd...for before and after purposes...
there were 2 ppl with c63 p31 and they all got around 429~431 whp
and i got 418~421 whp...isnt the E63 stock supposed to be more powerful?? isnt the M156 tuned higher in the E than in the C? i dont get it...
anybody else dyno their cars and got similar results???
ALSO,i did a before and after with a charcoal delete and K&N filters and i actually lost power at around 4000-4500...theres like a dip on the dyno....wtf??!!! lol did anyone have this issue??

Math actually works if you take 518hp with around 20% drive line loss you get around 415 whp.

Now that makes more sense for the E. C63 with 480 at the crank pulling 430 at the wheel does sound unlikely.

Nono
same happed with the 55k. The E and the CLS 55 both dynoed with in the 420-430whp range, which put them at the same power level as the S, CL, SL which were rated higher from factory. It was a marketing method
also the C will pull the E, for the simple fact it makes the same power but is in a lighter format...plus the P31 has better parts taken from the SLS, so it has the edge on all other 63's that are NA
If you want the fastest 63, the C is where it is at

Dyno numbers are relative to the dyno & day, in this case it was a cool day, 5-6deg C with 33% humidity & it was done on a Dynapack dyno which seems to be a bit generous especially compared to a Mustang dyno. What can be taken from this is that a 100% stock 2010 C63 P31 made ~12whp more than a 100% stock 2011 E63 & a 2011 C63 P31 with secondary cats & resonator removed made ~10whp more than the E63. Yes, we were quite surprised to see my 2010 make a few more whp than the 2011 C63 with the exhaust mods. I've only owned mine for a few months & now wondered if it was in fact already tuned so one Saturday morning, around 6am with only a couple cars on the hwy I took mine up to speed & the speed limiter kicked in just as I was passing 280km/h so it should be stock. Sorry if it looks like I'm going off topic, just trying to shed some light on the dyno day in question & the 2 C63 P31 cars.
