2012 ECU tuning
been looking around for a tune for the car but renntech and kleeman want me to send the ecu out.
Is there any tuners that tune in person without me going through the hassle of removing and shipping the ecu
I am new to ecu tuning and dont know much about it

I personally like to be close to my tuner too just in case there are updates or changes.

tune
is a dyno tune the same? The dyno was really big in the V crowd but never really understood the difference

Vic, how do you like your OE tune, this will be my first car in a long while that I will tune. Last car was a 2000 turbo jetta, from what I remembered there was no problems,
Did you tune right away or give it some miles first

i'm in Nashville,so the closest place to tune is 4-5 hours away and the beehive of tuners is 2,000 miles away.i'm not really familiar with exactly where San Jose is,but you have a ton of tuners in LA area...anyway i wanted a tune,so i called OE and he gave me speficic and good instructions on ECU removal,took 5 minutes.at about 3:30 PM,i then boxed it up and mailed overnight for $55,they got it next day at noon,tuned it and mailed it out that same day at 3:00.i got the ECU back the next day at noon.
i was shocked that i actually mailed it and got it back tuned in under 48hrs.i felt the power increase for sure,but in your car it will be a huge increase in power.your car will go close to 700hp/700ft-lb crank from just a tune.
as far as getting it on the dyno,i really don't think it would be necessary in your case,but i think they might could squeeze another 5-10 hp out of it having your car literally on the dyno while they tune.i also think you might be paying quite a bit more for that service.
my point is,pick a tuner say OE or Weistec,not knocking other tuners,but i have never heard anything bad about either OE or Weistec and their numbers are proven.call them up and get instructions about removal of ECU,send it off while your car sits still about 48hrs,get it back,put it in and your off.
make sure your keys aren't in your pocket when you pull the ECU if you have key-less go.

It's gonna happen one of these days to somebody's 5.5 with all these insane tuning.
I think AMS just mentioned they are located at West Chicago, which is only 70 miles from me but thousands of miles from San Jose.
