It's finally here! 2013 E63 Wagon
Yesterday, after a VERY long and seemingly never ending saga, my day had finally come- the arrival of my new 2013 E63S Wagon. I could go on about the length of the ordering process, the grueling wait time, the lack of communication from MB regarding my order (twice defunct).... but you know what? I don't even care anymore. IT'S ****ING HERE!!! Not only is it here, but it's everything I had been expecting... and then some. Initial impressions? BEAST. Motor Trend again hit the nail on the head when they described it as "laughably fast", I'd go on the say maybe even shockingly fast, and I am no stranger to fast cars.
Dealer tells me (take for what it's worth), that it's the first '13 delivered stateside. Be prepared MBW, you'll be seeing a lot of this wagon in the upcoming months as we will be giving it the MAC treatment, but in the meantime here are some delivery iPhone shots to set the mood:

Had this plate for an embarrassingly long time on a E350![Stick Out Tongue](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/tongue.gif)

Looks absolutely awesome!!
Glad you feel it's worth the wait because I'm now in the "twighlight zone" waiting on a build date for my wagon, ugg.

Awesome-ness in white! Really hope MB has the pano delete option for the wagon. Wow, look at that license plate. Hope they don't ruin the front with a license plate there.

Dude. Nice nice nice. Oh. FINALLY!!! Congrats brosef. What was your final spec? So, it did qualify as a 2013 car - glad there was less drama about the release.
Otakki: don't you like the pano roof? I love the big airy feeling. One of the best features, IMO. I do agree that MB should be better about optionality - we want the third row so we should get it. You don't want the pano roof so you don't have to order it, etc. Really quite pathetic for a mass production mfg. Sorry about the thread-jack, Derek.
Congrats again, dude. A sigh of relief and glad it lives up to the expectations.

question, what makes this a 2013 vs a 2012, as it was produced in 2012, prior to the mid yr.
are there specific differences versus a comparable 2012 wagon
looks awesome btw

I told them I would not accept a car with a front plate mount from the time I ordered the car (January 2012), and I have a MB Certified shop.

Agreed on the roof, I would have ordered it. I come from a racing background so I understand the lack of sunroof, but this is not a race car (at least in that regard).
I have to throw it on the lift and inspect the rear floor. I can almost guarantee that the exhaust system is the reason for no 3rd row option. I would have liked that as well.
Thanks!

Technically it was made under the 2013 VIN allocation. Generally automobile MFGs start this with cars built in summer and arriving in fall as part of a marketing process. There are some small guidelines on when you can technically begin the next year allocation, but I can't recall them because I haven't used any of my VINs in a long time. I'll see if I can find the DMV manufacturer's license guidelines if you really need to know.

The wagon is definitely good especially if you have kids since there are lots of gears to carry, ie strollers, etc.

2013 E350 Wagon, prev 2005 ML 500 SE
![Cool](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/icons/icon6.gif)
that is one awesome wagon!!!
I have a 2013 E 350 Wagon on order and just got my build date--Aug 9.
Too bad they shortchange the wagon lineup and don't offer an E550
wagon as I would have gone for that.
More pics please when you get a chance.
