Window Tint Help

Hey, I need some advice on window tint. I have an all black '10 W212 AMG (E63) with the pano roof. The sides and rear are currently tinted to a 30%. The car is insanly hot during the summer so I am looking at getting it tinted more (I have a 5 week old I also need to protect in the back seat).
I have got some quotes and two different people told me not to tint the pano roof since it would build up to much heat and possible crack the roof and therefore they would not warranty their work.
Those same two also told me that they would make the side and rear any darkness I wanted and would even tint over the current tint.
So my questions are:

1. Can the pano roof be tinted?
2. If you can tint the pano roof, should it be clear, reflective, dark or what?
3. When I tint the sides and rear again, should I have the current tint removed or can it just be tinted over?
4. Should i request any special kind of tint to use to keep the heat build up to a minimum?

Thanks,

Answers:

1. yes
2. your preference based on comfort
3. as mentioned above remove the tint-- your tint guy will do this and clear all the glue too.
4. as your tint professional as to the best to avoid heat.

i drive them all, fast and hard
there are those ceramic tints or nano tints, that premier company of the site offers, they make it seem like they are heat rejectors...probably more than starndard tint

I had the sunroof tinted on my son's GLK with a 5% tint. Made a huge difference in the heat transmitted to the cabin. I would try it first then redo the windows if you're not satisfied.

The sunroof cover in my son's GLK was just a light coloured fabric shade that still let in tremendous amounts of light/heat. Cured with the 5% tint.

Thanks everyone. I was leaning towards removing the old tint first anyway, I just did not like the idea of two tints on one window that could mess up. As for the pano, I guess I will just let them tint it and their warranty not cover it. And "E-Ridium 63" I originally thought the same thing when my wife was complaining but the lid is a mesh style fabric that seems to do notta, zero, nuttin' for heat and sun control. The car gets so hot inside that you cannot even touch the steering wheel or shifter. (note to self, never buy another pano roof)
The good thing is now I have my wife talked into blacking it out!

Now if I can just get the same kind of help in the Toyota Tundra forum with my problem!
