For intakes I would rather have ROW air boxes rather than the renntech CF (M156 engine). ROW cost about $600 if memory serves and throw in a bit extra bucks for a new air filters. That is less than a quarter of what renntech is charging for their cf air boxes which claims to gain up to a measly +10 bhp and +5 torque for $3180. Whereas the ROW air boxes with new air filters could possibly get 20-25 hp. If you however feel that there is a need for the CF aesthetic, personally the one made carbonio looks a lot sleeker at $1950 (and they claim more power than renntech too). I however have no previous experience with carbonio CF airboxes to be able to vouch for their claims. Just my 2 cents

ROW means Rest Of World from north america, they are OEM mb air boxes. They look exactly the same just the insides are different. ROW have no carbon filters or lattice in them and the shape of the air horn is better and a little larger.

Pic comparison, the one on the left is N America spec, and the one on the right is ROW

FF. W212 E63 M156 non-pano 18" P2 ParkT NightV (gone but will be missed).
I was thinking of the same thing: What's the purpose of our airboxes being different than ROW?

I do not have an answer to your question. This is just a guess but the reason might be the same as to why US spec cars and European cars are not identical.

Anyone upgrade their brake pads? I don't care about dust or if they squeak a bit just better braking feel and stopping power.

Same here. My oem ones are actually beginning to squeak at 45k miles. So looking to replace them with something better.

yeh and I have a bridge to sell you. Not a chance if no other mod was done. They may post these numbers but no way in the real world

lol! No gains from ROW airboxes. The only dyno proven CF air intake providing around 10hp is the Renntech one.

If the ROW airbox (hereafter called the unicorn) offered a boost in power, why are the 2014 E63S found outside of North America, fitted with said unicorn, rated for the same power levels our cars are, which do not have the unicorn fitted?

I'll ask the same standard three questions I always do when I see this type of post:

1- Have you inspected your pads to determine there is serviceable material thickness still there? The sensors can fail. 45K miles seems like an astounding number of miles on one set of E63 pads. YMMV

2-Have you tried to rebed your pads to restore the transfer layer?

3-Why do you think that something other than the OE pads will be better, and what qualities are you seeking in a new pad material?
