W212 E63 & W211 E63

Front bumper side vents

Anyone ever notice that the side vents/gills on the front bumper on the W212is closed? I have a W211 E63 and they are open and operative. I wonder if it has any effect of the brake coooling or aero dynamics?

The side vents are purely cosmetic. They have no effect on brake cooling or aero dynamics.
