what a bunch of mf'ers...

so lemme get this right, the Servicemanage is just coming up with a lame excuse because they cant figure it out, and they havent gotten word from the mb tech specialist who might actually tell them whats wrong??

have u mentioned the air bellows? what did they say ?

your car is well withing warrenty so they have to fix it...the dealer doesnt loose anything by having it fixed. everythign is per mBUSA .

can u post the bulletin on here?

It sure sounds as if you have gotten the brush off . They should have addressed the suspension drop and you shouldn't have had to drive out of that dealership dissatisfied. Shame on them ! Keep us posted on how this lame suspension drop issue is resolved . Or on the continued mishandling of it by our friends in the MB dealerships.

That’sexactly what happened. Shame on MB andtheir “Customer Service”

Shame on Wappingers Falls Mercedes Benz!!!

The onlyindividual from there who tried hard was my service writer. I know he did everything he could but he was alsogreeted with resistance.

TheTechnical Specialist (a joke name at this point) probably just didn’t want to pressthis issue any higher and dropped the ball. Perhaps he purposely slowedthings down to get me tired. Who knows? Bottom line is that the car is not 100% up tofactory specs, MB Service refused to acknowledge the issue and then correctlyrepair it.

The caris now at another dealer waiting… Let’ssee what happens from now on.

If thisapproach will not work, I will take pictures with date and time and post it onthe site… MB Customer Assistance willalso hear from me too.

How do Ipost the bulletin???

I always wonder why a dealership would refuse warranty works, especially when a dealership usually makes more money from servicing than from selling cars. Don't they just bill MBUSA and get paid? Getting paid is getting paid, and it makes no difference whether the payor is MBUSA or the customer.

Common sense does not exist now days... Let's see what happens in the next few days... I will keep you posted.

As to the warranty work and thier inability to get it done it is just unbelievable. I bet Chevrolet, Kia and Huyndai will service thier customers better. MB is getting enough of income, they don't need to care...

My 2011 E63 drops like crazy overnight..

Its down to 4 degrees fahrenheight in the morning an the car looks like its sitting on the ground. Kind of thought this was normal.

Is the normal or do I have a problem here? Once I start the car it raises right away...

This is NOT Normal. Run to the MB Service and have them correct the problem. I hope you will not have to deal with idiots like I did...

2011 E350cdi estate
Hi I'm new to this thread. I noticed my E class estate dropping down at the back after a few hours parked or overnight. No warning lights on the dash and the car would rise up again when started, often with a "Please wait - vehicle rising" info on the display.Took it to my dealer and they informed me that it should not generally drop at all overnight, but will settle a maximum 15mm if left for several weeks without starting. They've ordered new air bellows - will fit them under warranty and keep the car overnight to check that the fault has been cured.I'll post again following this...

I think I'll reserve judgement until I get the car back.
I'd been putting up with the sagging for some time because I thought it may be normal.
I'm a bit concerned that these components have failed after less than 2 years ownership and 14000 miles! Will I have to fork out for a failed compressor in the future? And no doubt when the car's out of warranty?

Right, why are these relatively new components failing so early in to their service life?

A small update to keep you guys in the loop.

As for now, “another” dealership will be replacing an air compressor together with the valve block. (I am holding off with disclosing names for the time being)

I am assuming it is their first step to eliminate the defect. I personally do not believe the compressor is faulty, but at least someone has taken a step forward to repair my E63. To make it clear, they confirmed my rear suspension is dropping down!!!

Now watch this. I’ve started a case with MB Customer’s Relations in regards to what happened at WF MB. After 24+ hours a “clerk” who apparently has zero knowledge in the automotive industry and reads responses according to the chart he is given, informed me that the WF MB has taken every step to service my car properly and they determined that the vehicle is working within factory standards.

What a bunch of BS. I got to tell you… being with MB brand since ’96 I have never experienced such a pathetic approach to service their clients. It clearly appears that only evident and concrete repairs are accepted under the warranty. If there is something requiring complex repair, thinking or will involve several departments inside the company, they will do anything they can to avoid it. I bet they will welcome you with all the answers after the factory warranty period has expired.

Bad business and shame on MB Service-thinking the public is stupid…

To be continued…

I had same problem, and took it to the local dealership to check it in. Diagnosed as faulty air suspension, and they agreed to fix it under warrranty. They already had couple other E63 and CLS63 with same problems, so they knew where to look. They ordered the parts, took 3 weeks to have them from Germany. Today, I drop the car at the dealership in the morning, and picked it up in the evening. They replaced the "kneumatic spring" (have no idea wtf it is, and they explained that it's the air suspension spring), and the car no longer drops its rear like a hotrod anymore.
All in all, whole process was just a breeze with no hassle, but unlike many others in this forum, I'm located in Korea, so the warranty issue and how dealers handle them could be entirely different story.
Hope you can sort things out and fix it asap.

Funny thing is, another dealership confirmed that my car has a problem in air suspension system, but they decided to replace other parts to fix it. It seems like the parts they ordered to replace is something like a reservoir tank that holds air. Although it seems like my car's problem was cured, I'm considering to replace the other part as well just for the preventative measure.

Air bellows

It will likely still drop after the compresser and valve replacement.

That's exactly what they did to my car today. An air compressor together with the valve block have been replaced. They are testing the car now. I told them to take their time. I bet it will still drop so the air bellows are next.

BTW, the "clerk" from Mercedes Benz Customer Relations was supposed to reach out to the dealer who is working on my car and then get back to me. Did that happen? Nope! So I called and pushed the issue but the "clerk" was not available. I left a message, so let's see what happens tomorrow. They will have to respond and explain how come I was given the "Car is working up to factory specs" together with "Service could not find any issue with the air suspension" while another dealer confirmed the issue and started working on it the next day.

I guess they don't repair anything requiring thinking or effort. Check engine light, oil changes and brake pads. Pathetic Service of MB. Sure, not always and not everywhere but such cases as mine should not exist.

yeah if it doesnt show up on stardiag...they are baffled...

this whole issue obviously doesnt make sense
even when mine was fixed, it still didnt make sense, why if each shock has its own bellow, and they are individual units, then why was the problem bilateral.....no one knows

Two lines connecting both bellows meet at the valve block. It will automatically equalize itself. I think...

I am sure they replace both as a precaution, and since there are updated bellows they should be replaced in pairs.

It's been 2 days since the dealership replaced my E63's air spring and valve block, and the car's not dropping a single inch at all so far.
It seems like the problem has been fixed for now, but I shall see.

I'll book an appointment with another dealer that offered to fix air bellows and have them fixed just in case as well.

It was their first step to attempt the repair. I guess they didn't want to jump on the expensive air bellows at first. Perhaps it is their process of elimination? Who knows?

BTW, they called me today and said that the car is still sagging down so the air bellows are on order and are next! Gooooooood!!!!

Send me your email address and I will send you the bulletin and picture of the air bellow.

Hi
Whilst this was not an option considered by OP, has anyone attempted to fit coilovers to W212 cars yet?
I know that in Europe both Brabus and Carlsson have done it but they are rather tight-lipped when it comes to discussing it unless, of course, you let them do this conversion on your car and pay the bill.
