my wife bananas! :D
wow.. you guys really dont like it. I'm satisfied with it personally. yes it does look a bit like a bmw but then these companies have been borrowing styling cues from each other.
i wish they kept the front fender vents... especially on our prefacelift c63s... it is arguably my absolute favourite aesthetic thing on the entire car.

Not loving it either. I hope the next C doesn't look like this.
I agree about the front fender vents, definitely an awesome AMG styling cue (which was present on RS4s before Mercedes put it on the CLK BS

It's just "meh" in my book. The front bumper does look a lot like the new BMWs. Aside from the quad exhaust and the gills in the rear bumper, there isn't much that would make it look "special" compared to the normal E-class. I mean the current E63 barely looks beefier than the standard sedan. What I like about BMW is that their "M" versions LOOK like they're meaner or more powerful.
At first, with the teasers, I liked the headlights. Now, seeing them "in the flesh" I'm just not sold. Something about the proportions is off. I think the two evil eyes should be parallel and I think the headlight assembly widens outward, like the facelift C-class headlights. Except on the new C's, the headlights look good. On this E63, I think it messes with the lines of the LEDs.

Wannabe BMW as everyone else said. What's with Mercedes and AMG? I don't seem to be the only one who likes the older SL (facelift) and the older ML it seems. The older E class and E63 was so much nicer. Why did they do this?

Hmm. Wheels in the picture are different from all those press images from MB. It seems like the wheels in press images are optional wheels in either PP, or S models with 4matic.

the front bumper actually looks weird at this angle. not the most flattering picture of the E... I really want to see it in person and walk around the car. Hopefully they'll have one at the auto show this year!

I am not a big fan either.
Some cars like the Aston could are sexy from any angle but the new E is clearly not.
It is making my decision a lot easier to continue with my CLS order.
I agree also that MB is losing its edge and it started with the new SL.

I personally like it. It looks different and fresh except for the wheels. Looks like they got stuck in the 90's. But that could easily be fixed with a set of HRE's.

lol if I do get the new E63, the first thing I'd do is switch to the basic E front bumper.. I hope the fits are the same.
the basic E bumpers actually look great and more aggressive than the AMG's !

EuroSpec customers get a Business Line option so you can go stealth in your E63
"More details about the 2014 Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG are emerging day by day, having been showed to the public at the Detroit Motor Show, new reports from CarandDriver show that the E63 AMG will be offered in a business line option too, which will only be available in Europe.
AMG’s CEO Ola Källenius confirmed details on the Business Line option, this option will only be available from the AMG Performance Studio and will include downgrading exterior features announced for the E63 AMG, these include the aggressive looks turningit to a regular E-Class but most of all is the removal of the quad exhaust setup.
However, this does not mean that the performance will be compromised, the E63 AMG Business Line option will still retain the twin-turbo V8 5.5 liter engine producing 557hp and 720Nm of torque."

Meh. It's just not very aggressive looking. Pretty much in agreement with everyone else here. The front end is just too soft looking. Though I do like the headlights. Maybe when I start seeing them in person it will grow on me the way the M3's have over the past few years.

On AMG's homepage they mentioned the business package. They however said that only people in europe appreciate the non-aggro look
i can see it now based on all comments

I like how aggressive the new BMWs look. The headlights and nose are "squashed" but in a good way. The lines are also sharper. Even the regular 3-Series looks like it's gonna eat you. That's what I feel like AMGs should stay like. With power plants like the 6.2 and the 5.5TT, it'll beat it's fair share of competitors, therefore it should look like it.
