Fell in love with an AMG all over again
Well today I drove a 2011 E63 and fell in love all over again. I drove a 2004 S55 with Kleemann mods for years and when the 63s first came out drove E and S versions and missed the torque. Man what a difference the 2010 suspension and transmission changes made! The 2010 / 11 E63 is a fabulous car; gonna have to get one very soon.
So question, save ~10 grand and find the nicest low mileage 2010 or pop for the 2011? Looks like a LOT of 2010s coming off lease and a few 2011s.

So, just read racer M's post and the many pages of follow on. Whoa! I still love the car but through all the BS (both ways) I think I detected the usual "stay away from first year of production"? The 11 I drove today was very sweet, Alcantra headliner, all the options, sweet. And I think at just over 60k for a 33k mile car with almost 2 yrs factory warranty left a pretty good deal? Opionions?

Yes, the black on black 2011. I went to look at the white 2010. I guess you bought it? Did you trade an M5? I am really interested in your comparison of the two as I may still look for an M5 instead. BTW, the black one is a very good deal at the asking price but I was hoping to spend less, hence the search for a 2010. On the other hand the balck car is loaded, has factory warranty until Nov. 2014, and fairly low mileage. Why don't you sell me the 2010 and go back for the 2011?

Yeah I bought the white one. I got an incredibly good deal on it. The M5 you saw sitting on the lot was my previous car. I am good friends with the used car sales manager up there and pretty much all those guys. I have been very impressed with the e63 and have not missed my M5 for one day yet. I like you was amazed at how much more of drivers car the w212 is vs. the w211. Light years better. You shoud by the blk one though. I know the previous owner. That was one of his "low end" cars!
