Racing Dad

So this was consistent for a few months, brought it in to fix. They said it was the cam shaft belt tensioner was loose. I'll get paperwork scanned and uploaded tomorrow.

But now 4 months later, starting to do it again.

Any thoughts on what you guys think it is.

Sounds like exactly what my brand new slk is doing. They don't have a diagnosis yet, but they thought its timing chain tensioners. They replaced them all last week but the noise persists.

YES!! That is identical!

So dealer was able to fix, but it came back. so i'm supposed to bring it in again. Let me get paperwork on here so you can see what work they did.

And I'll let you know what they do again to fix if it's any different than before.

here are the 2 images for what they did. seems like they fixed or altered the crank shaft.

Thanks. Strange I'd have this noise on a new car. Last I talked to them Mb might send someone down to look at it. Its been in a couple times for it now and they can't figure it out. Many more and they'll have to buy it back.

I have the same noise on my '13 CLS63 too. I asked my local technician and he said that it is normal on a turbo engine, he said it's the turbo injectors. But I'm not sure if that's true -- someone please chime in.

Sounds like bunk. My '12 CLS63 makes no such noise.

Its more like a clicking noise and not as loud as on the video. Only create that noise during start up -- sometimes it doesn't appear sometimes it does. However, there is no problem with my car so far and its running strong. I might have to double check with MB dealer about that noise to make sure.
