Best acceleration methods?

Hello everyone,

For the life of me I can't get the race start option down pat. I always end up screwing something up.

I'm looking for the fastest acceleration methods other than race start. Manual mode? Sport plus? If manual, please share at what points you shift.

I'm a beginner at this but trying to enjoy the speed aspect at the local tracks. Thanks in advance!

I should clarify that I'm looking for best methods for acceleration from a complete stop and rolling start. Thanks!

i think best is sport + plus with sport traction.

for race start remember you have to push the brake pedal more then half way down or it wont let you engage racestart.

so hold the brake push the traction button once and turn the knob to RS and then push the upshift paddle and your good to go. i had trouble with it at first

Thanks rac3x. I think that makes sense on the brake more than half way. That explains why I could sometimes engage it and sometimes I couldn't. I did read though that some people were not experiencing faster times with race start though. Anyone do solid number comparisons?

the manual mode doesn't shift fast enough to get good shifts every time, so use sport plus transmission mode. As for traction control, turn it completely off. Practice practice practice. I have found the race start mode to be quite slow compared to what you can do after some practice. I don't have any numbers to compare, but it feels significantly faster if you modulate the throttle by yourself.

Josh, how much do you depress the gas initially? If I step on it all th way then it fishtails. 3/4 perhaps? Thanks

All depends on the situation. I suggest you go practice! You'll get it
